Olympics Day 5

London Olympics day 5

Congratulations Michael Phelps!  That's an accomplishment we have to digest.  It's so big it takes time to peg against other wonderful results to start to realize the magnitude.  I am looking forward to the many Olympics ahead as new young talent chase such a phenomenal goal.

On a much lighter note.

Who will admit to checking out the swim suits and thinking if they had a pair of those fancy togs they would swim fast too?

I can't tell you if they really would bring down your backyard time, but it might be fun to play with the challenges of getting one on.

The gals allow 10-15 minutes for this not so easy process, the guys 5-10.  This is the closest I can come up with for an at home trial.

Go to your closet and find a pair of jeans that are at least one size too small for you at the moment.  Most of us have them buried in the back, but if you're one of those rare ducks that don't maybe a skinny friend will loan you a pair.

This is meant to be done in the desert in Aug with your air conditioning no lower than 85 degrees.

Have a very hot shower.  Towel dry, you should still be steaming.  Now start trying to get the jeans on.  If you succeed you should be out of breath, red in the face and ready to pop the seams.  And yes you may have what it takes to be an Olympian.
